AI (LLMs) As a Cognitive Stethoscope for Clinical Reasoning / Autores: Rafael Lisboa de Souza (UFSC/CNPq) e Darlei Dall’Agnol (UFSC/CNPq)
Since Hippocrates, the evolution of medicine, regarding diagnosis has been guided, above all, by the development of technologies that expanded the physician’s biological capacity, amplifying their sensory perception 1. Among these, we can cite the stethoscope, laboratory tests, and imaging exams. All these technologies add relevant information to the clinical history and physical examination, which, evaluated in light of the scientific studies of Evidence-Based Medicine, constitute the content upon which the physician’s cognition operates, in an intellective process called clinical reasoning.
